Eagle Spirit/ Eagle Pride

Eagle Spirit Eagle Pride

Eagle Spirit/ Eagle Pride is a community run organization that helps the Fairview Area School by providing grants for money to causes in the school. Eagle Spirit gets their money through fund raising throughout the year.

The People That Make It Happen

Eagle Spirit is run by people in the community that are involved in the school one way or another. Some of them have jobs at the school, and some are parents of kids that go to or went to school here. The people on the Eagle Spirit board are:

  • Fawn Naffien- President
  • Debb Niles- Treasurer
  • Stephanie Cleeves- Secretary
  • Stephanie Woolsey- Banquet Social
  • Anne Tompkins- Fund Raising
  • Lynn Handrich- Concessions
  • Jenny Lilly- Auction Committee
  • Norma Lyden- Elementary

They meet once a month at the school. At the meetings they discuss whether they will approve a grant or not and upcoming events that they take part in. Anyone is welcome to come take part in these meetings.

Recent grants provided by ES/EP (Eagle Spirit Eagle Pride) are money for books in the library, books for classrooms, bookshelves, soccer goal, choir, cross country entry fees, weight machines, year book committee, recorder material for music class, self-defense classes for the Junior and Senior girls. They provide grants three times a year once in February, May, and October.

Eagle Spirit is a big help to the school because they provide grants for things that the school needs. Since our school and community don’t have much money the school can use all of the help we can get.

Fund Raising

The Auction

Their primary fund raiser is an auction at the school. They get companies, big and small, to donate a good or service that Eagle Spirit will sell in the auction. The companies that donate to the auction range from local companies to companies known world-wide. Before the auction this year they have Luau Dinner and a Silent and Live Auction.

At the auction they will have anything from big items to little and everything in between. They also have gift certificates to bid on. In the auction they also get some projects from the classes in the school. The classes make an item to be sold in the auction. Whatever the item makes the class gets half of it and Eagle Spirit gets the other half.

Consessions

They also sell concessions at sporting events in the school such as basketball and volleyball. They have a little room that they sell pizza, candy, pop, and other things like that out of.

Santa Shop

They also organize the Santa Shop at the school. The Santa Shop helps littler kids get something for people for Christmas since they can’t just go out and get something. They go to whatever room it's set up in as a class and pick out what they want to get for who and write it on a piece of paper with the prices. Then they come back a few days later with money that their parents usually gave them and buy the gifts.
